What Could Have Been…

What Could Have Been…

Larry Nassar could have been the best and well-liked medical consultant for USA Gymnastics that helped the beloved gymnasts of the Olympic team. He could have been the one who helped and supported the team achieve success. No one would have accused him of terror if he had been a good medical consultant who upheld his values and did what he could to help in raising the youth of America’s best. It took a troupe of over 150 survivors to take down the tool, but not the organization who made it possible. Although his take down does open up speculation about USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic Committee, it doesn’t solve every problem caused by this incident. But what could have been will never be, now.

I’m, often, rendered speechless when it comes to such cases. But, if anything, if the man who ever sexually assaulted me does go to court, I would hope such a judge as Rosemarie Aquilina sentences him. Not because she’s a woman and not because she did so well this case, but because she lets survivors speak. What a double edged sword this is.
